Frequently Asked Questions

Find detailed answers about our specialized epoxy flooring solutions, from residential garages to commercial and industrial spaces, all designed for durability, performance, and long-lasting style.

What types of epoxy flooring do you offer?

We have a variety of epoxy floors including full-broadcast flake floors, metallic epoxy, solid color coatings, and polished concrete finishes tailored for both residential and commercial use.

Is epoxy flooring suitable for commercial kitchens?

Yes, our commercial grade coatings are USDA approved, seamless, and can be installed with anti-slip additives and integrated cove bases, making them perfect for high-sanitation environments like kitchens.

Do you provide moisture vapor protection?

Absolutely. Mostly every standard installation includes C3Epoxy's specialized moisture vapor barrier primers, designed to prevent coating failure caused by hydrostatic pressure in concrete slabs.

Can you install epoxy over outdoor patios?

For outdoor surfaces, we typically recommend UV-stable polyaspartic coatings over traditional epoxy to prevent yellowing caused by direct sunlight exposure.

How do you prepare the concrete surface?

What happens during the base coat and flake phase?

When is the protective topcoat applied?

How long does the entire installation take?

We use heavy-duty mechanical diamond grinding to remove the top layer of concrete, opening the pores to ensure a strong mechanical bond with the epoxy.

Once prep is complete, we apply a high-solids epoxy base coat and immediately broadcast the flake creating a full texture and color layer.

After the base coat has cured, we remove the excess flakes, scrape the surface for smoothness, and apply a UV-stable polyaspartic topcoat for maximum durability and shine.

Most residential projects are completed in two days. You can usually walk on the floor in 24 hours and park vehicles on it within 48 to 72 hours.

Durability & Longevity

How long does a C3Epoxy floor typically last?

With proper care, our industrial-grade epoxy and polyaspartic systems can last 15-20 years in residential settings and 10+ years in high-traffic commercial environments. Our multi-layer application ensures long-term structural integrity.

Is epoxy flooring resistant to chemical spills and oil stains?

Yes, are floors are highly non-porous and resistant to most automotive fluids, household chemicals, and industrial solvents. Spills can be easily wiped away without staining or damaging the finish.

How well does the floor hold up against impact and heavy machinery?

Our floors are designed for extreme impact resistance. The mechanical bond created by diamond grinding, combined with high-solids primers, ensures the flooring won't chip or peel under the weight of heavy vehicles or dropped tools.

Does the epoxy or polyaspartic finish yellow over time?

We utilize UV-stable, non-yellowing topcoats specifically engineered to withstand UV exposure. This ensures your garage or showroom floor maintains its clarity and vibrant color without fading or ambering, even in sunny Texas environments.
